Resident Council
The Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency Program (ROSS) is a HUD administered program for public housing residents with supportive services, resident empowerment activities, and assistance in becoming economically self-sufficient. If you are a current resident interested in receiving case management services or in need of being connected to community resources, please call the Social Services Department at 610-439-8678 ext. 2057.
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program is open to Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Program participants. Families entering the FSS Program work the Director of Social Services to develop goals and a plan of action to reach these goals, which will extend over a five-year period, and ideally lead to self-sufficiency. While enrolled in FSS, AHA will contribute to a savings account for eligible residents earning income. For more information or to enroll, please call the Social Services Department at 610-439-8678 ext. 2057.
Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program
The Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program (HCV HOP) allows families that are assisted under the HCV program to use their voucher to buy a home and receive monthly housing assistance payments towards a mortgage. The program is limited to first-time homeowners who have received housing counseling and meet other requirements as set forth by HUD. Interested HCV participants may contact AHA to request an eligibility verification by calling 610-439-8678 ext. 2057.
